12-Month Limited Term Appointment in Philosophy (EXPIRED)

Trent University invites applications for one twelve-month limited-term appointment (LTA) in the Department of Philosophy at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing August 15, 2018. This appointment is subject to budgetary approval.

Candidates are expected to have a completed Ph.D., demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, and an active research program. The successful candidate will teach seven half-credit courses—three in the fall semester, three in the winter semester, and one six-week course in the summer of 2019. We are seeking candidates to teach the following combination of courses in the fall and winter semesters with assignments for summer 2019 to be determined:

LTA #1—Peterborough Campus

FALL: PHIL 2790H: Aesthetics; PHIL 3210H: Epistemology; PHIL 3420H: Modern Philosophy I—Reason and Revolution

WINTER: PHIL 2010H: Love and Desire; PHIL 3430H: Modern Philosophy II—The Enlightenment; PHIL 4610H: Major Texts (a seminar focused on texts reflecting the candidate’s area of specialization)

+ One 0.5 credit course in the summer of 2019
