The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)

The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an innovative and visionary leader to Chair the Department of Philosophy. Research in the department focuses on core areas of analytic philosophy, and current faculty have particular strengths in contemporary ethics, epistemology, and philosophy of science. The department supports an undergraduate major and also serves the core curriculum. Undergraduate programs are growing rapidly at UAB and commensurate student and faculty growth in the department is expected in the coming years.   Please see the department website for more information: http://www.uab.edu/cas/philosophy/

The successful candidate will be an accomplished scholar with administrative experience and vision to lead a department that emphasizes quality undergraduate education, faculty research, and community outreach. Appointment at the full professor level is expected. A doctoral degree in philosophy is required. AOS/AOC: Open.
