Job description

Saint Joseph’s College, located in Standish, Maine, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Philosophyto begin in August, 2019. Ph.D. preferred/ABD considered.  AOS: Open; AOC: Open. The teaching load is 3/3 (24 credit hours per year), which will include multiple sections of the College’s required philosophy course, “Human Nature and Ethics,” and several electives.

The areas of specialization and competence are open, but we are looking for candidates who can teach in the history of Western philosophy, and an ability to teach a variety of ethics courses is also desirable. Apart from demonstrating outstanding teaching, this individual will be expected to pursue an active program of scholarship and offer regular service to the department and Saint Joseph’s College.
