The Department of Philosophy at the University of Richmond invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to begin August 2013.
We seek a candidate with a strong commitment to high quality undergraduate education and primary expertise in metaphysics or epistemology, broadly construed. The successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses per year. We seek individuals with demonstrated teaching excellence in elementary symbolic logic. Additionally, candidates with demonstrated teaching excellence in the philosophy of science and introductory philosophy courses preferred. Candidates with the ability to contribute to one of the University’s interdisciplinary programs, such as cognitive science, linguistics or WGSS, preferred. A Ph.D. is required. ABDs will be considered, but must have completed the Ph.D. degree by the start date.
