The Department of Philosophy at the University of Richmond invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to begin August 2013.


We seek a candidate with a strong commitment to high quality undergraduate education and primary expertise in the history of philosophy, particularly Kant and/or 19th century philosophy. Candidates with concentration in normative ethics, aesthetics, or philosophy of religion, preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses per year. We seek individuals with demonstrated teaching excellence. Candidates with the ability to contribute to one of the University’s interdisciplinary programs, such as cognitive science, linguistics or WGSS, preferred. A Ph.D. is required. ABDs will be considered, but must have completed the Ph.D. degree by the start date.
