Job description

The Department of English and Communications, which houses Norwich University's Philosophy Program, seeks to fill one full-time tenure-track position. The candidate will be expected to teach a 4/3 course load for the academic year. Course assignments are largely service-oriented: professional ethics general education requirements, including Criminal Justice Ethics, Business Ethics, and Medical Ethics. On occasion, electives that complement the needs of the Philosophy Program and fit with the candidate's AOS and other AOCs may be offered. Faculty will be expected to be have an active research agenda, to advise, and to engage in service to the institution.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: 

Ph.D. in Philosophy or Religious Studies by July 1, 2019.

Experience in teaching and designing courses in applied ethics is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates who possess a record of research and publication.

Candidates with expertise in philosophical topics related to gender or race or in world religions are especially welcome.
