Job description |
The Department of Philosophy, Graduate Program in Bioethics, and Center for Bioethics, Health and Society at Wake Forest University invite applications for a post-doctoral fellowship. A fellow in this position will have the opportunity to further develop skills in teaching philosophy at the undergraduate level and bioethics at the graduate level, as well as pursue research in both philosophy and bioethics. This is a full-time position for one year (twelve months), renewable for up to one more year. Fellows will receive a salary, health benefits, and funding to attend at least one national conference each year of the fellowship. Responsibilities and opportunities of a fellow will include: - Teaching the equivalent of two undergraduate courses in Philosophy and two graduate courses in Bioethics over the one-year period. Specific responsibilities will be determined based on the fellow’s experience and the departmental/program needs. - Developing research/scholarly projects in bioethics and philosophy - Participating in activities of the Philosophy Department, Graduate Program in Bioethics, and Center for Bioethics, Health and Society - Contributing to bioethics activities at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Wake Forest School of Medicine as appropriate - Other responsibilities and opportunities will developed based on the fellow’s interests and background Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Philosophy or in a field related to bioethics, be qualified to teach Philosophy at the undergraduate level, and have experience teaching philosophy or bioethics.
