Job description

Trent University invites applications for a twelve-month limited-term appointment (LTA) in the Department of Philosophy at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing August 15, 2019. This appointment is subject to budgetary approval.

Candidates are expected to have a completed Ph.D., demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, and an active research program. The successful candidate will teach seven half-credit courses—three in the fall semester, three in the winter semester, and one six-week course in the summer of 2020. We are seeking candidates to teach the following combination of courses in the fall and winter semesters with assignments for summer 2020 to be determined.

LTA #1—Peterborough Campus

FALL:  PHIL 2110H: Moral Issues; PHIL 3050H: Philosophy, Gender, and Feminism; PHIL 3140H: Justice and Rights (Cross-listed with Political Studies)

WINTER: PHIL 2320H: Existentialism; PHIL 2390H: Biomedical Ethics; PHIL 3180H: Social and Political Philosophy (Cross-listed with Political Studies)

+ One 0.5 credit course in the summer of 2020
