The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, in conjunction with the Center for Ethics and Human Values, invite applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Applied Ethics position for the period of July 2019 – June 2020, with the possibility of renewal for a second year contingent on funding and satisfactory performance. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to teach two undergraduate ethics courses per semester -- “Pharmacoethics: Dilemmas and Decision-Making” and “Bioenhancement and the Future” -- and contribute to the review and development of ethics pedagogy in the College of Pharmacy. The candidate will also be an active participant in the events and programs of the Center for Ethics and Human Values (https://cehv.osu.edu/). The Center for Ethics and Human Values is an interdisciplinary university center dedicated to promoting informed and respectful discourse on important ethical questions underlying public policy. Center faculty will support the candidate in pursuing an active program of research in their field of study. The candidate will also work with Center staff to organize a workshop on ethical and policy issues related to the pharmaceutical sciences in the spring semester. Successful applicants will have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Philosophy or related discipline prior to July 1, 2019. Compensation will take the form of a salary of $48,000 and includes a full benefits package.
