Director of the National High School Ethics Bowl (EXPIRED)

Reporting to the Director of the Parr Center for Ethics and working in collaboration with the other staff of the Parr Center, the Program Associate of the National High School Ethics Bowl (NHSEB) will be the primary client/participant contact in charge of executing the NHSEB mission: to promote respectful, supportive, and in-depth discussion of ethics among high school students nationwide. Specifically, the NHSEBProgram Associate will play a shared role in overseeing the creation and curation of the NHSEB’s principal pedagogical materials, the NHSEB case sets; will have overall responsibility for the success of the NHSEB national competition, held annually at UNC; and will oversee and offer support to NHSEB regional competitions, which are organized locally across the country. The Program Associate will drive the continued nationwide expansion of the NHSEB; to play an important role in obtaining grants and other external funding for the NHSEB; to market the NHSEB to a national constituency of high school teachers, principals and students; to offer counsel along with the Assistant Director of the Parr Center to the Director of the Parr Center for Ethics on strategic planning for the future of the NHSEB; and to nurture relationships with local and national partners and stakeholders. The continued existence of this position is conditional upon receipt of sufficient funding to maintain it.
