Job description

STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is seeking an outstanding candidate for a tenure-track position as Associate Professor of Philosophy. Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the history of philosophy with special emphasis in the area of Applied Ethics, Bio-ethics, and international/global ethics. Continued outside research activity is expected with a robust publishing record. Department and University service obligation and other duties assigned by the Chair required, including serving on College and University level committees. Student advising and mentoring, including thesis directing also required. Candidates must be well-respected in their fields of expertise, with the ability to organize seminars and colloquia that bring together renowned scholars and continue to enhance the reputation of the College and its programs. Doctorate degree in Philosophy required with at least 3 years of undergraduate teaching and at least 5 significant publications.
