The Department of Philosophy at the University of Memphis invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin in Fall 2019, pending availability of funds. This is a full-time position for the 2019-20 academic year only. Two-semester calendar. No summer teaching. Area of specialization (AOS): Open. Area of Competence (AOC): Open. The Department has teaching needs in social and political philosophy. Candidates who will contribute to the department’s long-standing strengths in philosophy of race, African-American philosophy, philosophy of gender, and feminist philosophy are especially encouraged to apply. Ph.D or ABD in Philosophy required. Successful candidates will possess a strong research program and excellent teaching skills. Interviews will be conducted by teleconference Position effective begin date: August 19, 2019.
