The Department of Philosophy and the University Center for Human Values invite applications for a tenure track position in ethics and/or political philosophy beginning September 2013. Applicants should have substantial teaching and research interests in bioethics (though it is not required that their previous work be in bioethics). The position involves teaching, advising, and service responsibilities in both the center and the department. The successful candidate will provide evidence of excellence in scholarship, teaching, and professional development.
Completion of PhD by September 2013 expected. Applicants who have not completed the requirements for the Ph.D. by September 1, 2013 may only be appointed at the rank of instructor, and only for one year (renewable).

2. A current curriculum vitae;
3. A scholarly paper or dissertation chapter representing the applicant’s scholarly achievement or potential;
4. A statement of current and future research interests;
5. Contact information for at least three referees, who will be contacted directly by email with instructions for submitting electronic letters of reference.

Letters of reference are to be submitted by end of the business day on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. The selection committee will begin reviewing applications immediately and incomplete applications may be at a disadvantage.
