| Details | The School of Philosophy in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California seeks a tenured or tenure track faculty position in Philosophy beginning August 2013. Areas of Specialization and Competence, Open. The position, which is open to all ranks – Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor – will be filled only at the highest level of promise or distinction. Applicant should have a Ph.D. in Philosophy by time of appointment. Demonstrated excellence in research required, and successful classroom experience valued. Duties include active research, graduate supervision, normal committee service, and classroom teaching at all levels, including general education courses, courses for undergraduate majors, and graduate seminars. The standard teaching load is two courses per semester. Applications for appointment to Associate or Full Professor, with tenure, require a covering letter, a CV, and names of at least three referees; other applications require a covering letter, a CV, and at least three letters of reference, plus a writing sample. Recent Ph.D.s should also include a transcript of graduate coursework. he review of files will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
