Job description |
The Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies seeks a specialist in the Philosophy of Race and/or Gender. The Department also has needs for faculty with competence in non-Western Philosophy, Indigenous Philosophy, Philosophy of Disability, and/or Latinx Philosophy. The position will be responsible for teaching lower-level, general education, and upper-level philosophy courses. Faculty duties include teaching and developing courses, maintaining an active research agenda, advising students, committee service, and other university requirements. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in philosophy is required by the start of the position. Preferred Qualifications: demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduates from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds, including first-generation students. Teaching Load: 4/4 load, with initial teaching load of 3/3 for the first two years of probationary employment, per contract guidelines. Position Responsibilities: include teaching a wide range of courses at the upper- and lower-division levels, introductory courses, and general education courses. Research and service are expected and supported. |
