Visiting Assistant Professor (EXPIRED)

This is a one semester,spring appointment in the College of Humanities and Sciences at the Thomas Jefferson University East Falls Campus. 

The successful candidate will teach ethics and philosophy courses offered in Jefferson’s Honors College and the Hallmarks general education core curriculum. The standard teaching load is 12 credits per semester.

• Teach philosophy and ethics courses in the general education curricula in the Honors program and College of Humanities and Sciences.

• Participate in assessment activities re: student learning and curriculum review.

• Participate in Honors-related programming,

• Interact with students, co-workers, visitors, and other individuals consistent with the values of Jefferson

Candidate must have a research doctorate or a foreign equivalent to a U.S. doctoral degree in ethics, philosophy, or related field.  ABD candidates will be considered.  Prefixed rank will be assigned based on academic credentials.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching courses in philosophy/ethics at the college level, as well as demonstrated commitment to in the pedagogies of active student learning.  Experience teaching full-time is preferred.  Experience teaching in an Honors curriculum is preferred. Evidence of an ongoing research trajectory in a relevant field is required; record of publication is a plus.
