Job description

Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Philosophy, invites candidates for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with appointment beginning academic year 2020-2021. The Department serves undergraduate majors and minors and has a doctoral program in Philosophy as well as two terminal masters programs: one in Philosophy and one in Social Philosophy. The expected teaching load for this position is 4 courses per year, typically with 2 preparations per semester. Duties will include teaching at the undergraduate level in the University Core Program, in the program for Undergraduate Majors, and in the Graduate programs. Also, there will be expectations of the usual advising, mentoring, and service as well as the pursuit of an active research program.

The Department is seeking candidates who have AOS: Social-Political Philosophy. Candidates are required to have an earned a PhD by August 2020. The candidate should be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education.
