Located in the heart of New York’s Capital District, Union College’s stunning campus is only a short drive away from New York City, Boston, and Montreal (all at around a three-hour drive away). Union College is an equal opportunity employer and strongly committed to student and workforce diversity. Increasing diversity on campus is a critical priority for Union, one that is integral to our mission of preparing students for a globally interconnected world. Our goal is not only to increase diversity, but to support a diverse environment in which people from varied backgrounds can succeed and thrive. As such, we welcome applications from members of groups traditionally underrepresented in the field and we ask applicants to comment in their cover letter on the ways in which their teaching, research, and/or service shows a commitment to the ideals of joining a community of diverse faculty, students, and staff.

Union College is committed to helping students think across boundaries of disciplines, connecting and integrating their studies in order to make broad contributions to humanity for social change on a local or global scale. In the service of this goal, Union has a vibrant set of interdisciplinary programs to which the ideal candidate might also contribute. The successful hire can develop courses in their area of expertise that may contribute to one or more of the interdisciplinary programs, a complete list of which may be found at: www.union.edu/interdisciplinary-studies. Applicants are invited to describe in their cover letter how they may contribute to interdisciplinary studies at the college.
