The Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn is an international research university that offers a wide range of degree programs. The chair for Epistemology, Modern, and Contemporary Philosophy invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher (100%) starting 01.03.2020 for an initial period of three years. The chair for Epistemology, Modern, and Contemporary Philosophy focuses primarily on the core areas of theoretical philosophy from both a systematic and historical perspective. We are seeking a researcher in any of the relevant areas of theoretical philosophy (e.g. epistemology, philosophy of mind, metaphysics, philosophy of language etc.), with a proven track record of research, teaching and publications. Applicants should possess an openness to methodological pluralism and an interest in topics in the history of philosophy. In addition, they should be willing to be active within the transdisciplinary structures of the university’s Excellence Initiative and be internationally oriented. A plan for a Habilitation project is expected. Your responsibilities: Support of research and teaching at the chair in theoretical philosophy Teaching 4 hours per week during semesters Engagement in the transdisciplinary research areas of the University of Bonn. Your Profile: A PhD in philosophy Peer-reviewed publications in an area of theoretical philosophy Fluent English, good French desirable Engaged, flexible, team-oriented, interested in continued professional development.
