The University of West Georgia Philosophy Program invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning August 2013. AOS: Comparative Religion / Comparative Philosophy. We have special interests in Asian and Islamic Philosophy. AOC: open, but we have needs in Philosophy of Gender and Philosophy of Race. Three-three teaching load includes lower-division Introduction to World Religions course and upper-division courses related to candidate’s AOS/AOC.  Candidates must have Ph.D. in philosophy or religion at time of appointment. The ideal candidate will have graduate degrees in both disciplines. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching. Non-teaching duties include research and normal service responsibilities. Salary competitive. Semester calendar. Possible summer teaching. AA/EOE. Please be advised that should you be recommended for a position, University System of Georgia Board of Regents policy requires the completion of a background check as a prior condition of employment.
