Position Summary

The Department of Philosophy at Michigan State University invites applications for a tenure-system, academic-year appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor, beginning August 16, 2020. Area of specialization: Feminist bioethics. Areas of competence: Open. The ideal candidate’s research will complement existing departmental strengths, for example, by taking an empirically-informed approach to bioethics or focusing on social justice issues related to health and health care. A PhD in Philosophy or a closely allied field prior to appointment is required. The candidate should be prepared to teach philosophy courses at the undergraduate and graduate level (four courses/year), as well as participate in thesis supervision and engage in service on- and off-campus. The successful candidate will have a robust research program established at the time of hiring. Candidates should be committed to teaching a diverse student body.

It is also the editorial home of the International Journal of Feminist Approaches to Bioethics.
