Permanent faculty

The Graduate Program in Philosophy at UNISINOS (University of the Sinos River Valley), at the Masters’s and Doctorate level is choosing teachers-researchers for its permanent faculty. They must be available to work 40 hours a week.

Requirements to be met by candidates: 

• Degree of Doctor of Philosophy;
• Experience in elaborating and developing research projects on themes pertaining to the PPG’s lines of research (Ethics, Political Philosophy and Philosophy of Language and Science);
• Articles published in high quality philosophy periodicals, in the last five years, book chapters and/or books published during the same period, on a philosophy topic that is appropriate to the Program;
• Teaching experience and experience in advising final course monographs and (preferably) Masters’ and/or Doctoral dissertations.

Documents required

• Proof of the PhD degree;
• Copy of identification pages of a valid passport.
• Curriculum Vitae (preferably the Lattes model: http://lattes.cnpq.br);
• Research project (at most 15 pages) on one of the Graduate Program (PPG-Filosofia) lines: Ethics, Political Philosophy and Philosophy of Language and Science.
• Copies of the 3 most important publications in the last five years.

The Selection Process includes:

1st Stage:

• Evaluation of the Curriculum Vitae;
• Analysis of the research project;
• Analysis of the publications presented; 

2nd Stage (in which the candidates selected in the first stage will participate): 

• Presentation of the project by the candidate followed by an interview with the evaluation committee of the Graduate Program 
• Pedagogical and Psychological Evaluation by the specialized department of the University.

Obs.: English may be used throughout the process.

• Invitations to the interviews of those selected during the 1st Stage: November 23 rd, 2012.

• The candidates will be informed of results by January 11th, 2013.

The places at Unisinos also provide opportunities for physically challenged candidates.
