Job description |
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in philosophy conferred by the start of employment (August 2020). Evidence of potential for excellence in research. Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching, especially in preferred areas. Preferred Qualifications: · Areas of specialization and competence are open, but we are particularly interested in Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Science, Philosophy of Race, Philosophy of Gender, various areas of Applied Ethics (including data ethics), and Ancient Philosophy. Responsibilities include teaching four courses per year (usually one lower level and one upper level or graduate course per semester); conducting an active research program resulting in publication; serving on committees for and supervising M.A. theses and Ph.D. dissertations; and performing some departmental service.
