Job Summary:

Wingate University’s Department of Religion and Philosophy seeks a candidate with strong interest and ability in undergraduate teaching for a full-time, secure-track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor with a focus in philosophy and ethics. The course load is 4-4 which includes a required course for third-year students entitled “Global Perspectives in Ethics,” introductory and advanced courses in philosophy and/or religion, and upper level special topics courses. We seek candidates who have broad interests—both inside and outside the Christian tradition—and the desire to attract and engage undergraduate students. We strongly encourage applications from women, people of color, and historically underrepresented groups.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications for the position include an earned terminal degree in Philosophy/Ethics, Theology, or related field; ABD considered but PhD preferred.

Salaries and benefits at Wingate are competitive and commensurate with experience.

Please include in the teaching statement titles and brief descriptions for at least two courses that you could offer that would be of interest to students as electives for Religion and Philosophy majors/minors.
