Philosophy and Ethics Instructor

This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The instructor is responsible for performing assigned teaching duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any Southwest Tennessee Community College.


Required Qualifications 

• Master's degree in Philosophy or master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in Philosophy from an accredited higher education institution. 

• Some teaching experience in higher education.
• Instruct courses in Philosophy and Ethics.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• A background check for the successful candidate.

Knowledge & Abilities 

• Knowledge of current teaching and learning strategies to facilitate student-centered learning; experience interacting successfully with academically and culturally diverse student populations.
• Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
• Ability to teach classes using various instructional delivery methods at any of the six locations. 
• Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
• Ability to interact with diverse student population.

Salary: $500.00/credit hour
