Part-Time Lecturer Pool

PHILOSOPHY, PART-TIME LECTURER POOL. The Philosophy Department at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers with positions available as determined by need and funding during the Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters of the 2012-2013 academic year, beginning September 10, 2012. Teaching assignments are contingent upon budget and enrollments. Responsibilities and duties may include teaching general education courses such as philosophical classics, critical thinking and possibly some upper division courses. 

Salary Range
Rank and salary are commensurate with experience, qualifications, and time base.

Position Description
Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term, and applicants must be available on very short notice.

Required Qualifications / Specialized Skills
A Master's or ABD in Philosophy is required. Applicants must document excellence in teaching at the college or university level. 


Preferred Qualifications / Skills
Ph.D. in Philosophy preferred.
