Job description

The Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo invites applications for a two-year Definite Term Lecturer position, with a start date of August 1, 2020. This position involves teaching seven courses per academic year in the fall, winter, and spring terms (80% of the appointment); and various service and administrative responsibilities (20% of the appointment). The successful candidate must be able to teach interdisciplinary courses in Cognitive Science and must have a PhD in Philosophy; the department also has teaching needs in philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, biomedical ethics, and philosophy of law. Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, a commitment to experiential learning, experience liaising with university faculty and staff, and familiarity with diverse groups of students will be assets. 

The salary range for this position at the rank of Lecturer is $65,000 to $100,000. The closing date for applications is April 17, 2020.
