Job description

This is an academic research post, where the successful candidate will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator

Prinicipa Duties


Conduct a specified programme of research and scholarship under the supervision and direction of your Principal Investigator.
Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities as required by your Principal Investigator, your School or Institute, or the University.
Engage in the dissemination of the results of the research in which you are engaged as directed by and with the support of and under the supervision of your Principal Investigator.
Engage in the wider research and scholarly activities of your research group, School and Institute.
Assist in teaching and mentoring students, as appropriate and directed, in the areas
Assist in teaching and mentoring students, as appropriate and directed, in the areas of your research
Carry out administrative work associated with your programme of research.

The current vacancy arises from an H2020 project PEriTiA (Policy, Expertise and Trust in Action), an international research project exploring the conditions under which people trust expertise used for shaping public policy. The aim of the project is to provide a better theoretical and empirical understanding of trust in experts in general and in scientists in the context of public policy decision making. The project is led by Professor Maria Baghramian and academically is located at UCD Centre for Ethics in Public Life. Salary: € 37,874 per annum + travel allowance to participate in the project events.
