Heythrop College was established in 1614 in Louvain by the Society of Jesus for the study of Philosophy and Theology. Since 1970, it has been the specialist Philosophy and Theology College of the University of London. While retaining a strong Catholic ethos, it offers an educational experience that respects all faiths and perspectives.

The College is seeking an outstanding scholar in Philosophy with an international research reputation and the ability to make a high-level Catholic contribution to research and teaching.

In addition to being able to contribute to the overall mission of the College, the role will involve teaching those who aspire to the Catholic priesthood and those who will be charged elsewhere with the education of priests. The successful candidate, therefore, will have an expert knowledge and understanding of the Catholic philosophical tradition and will be able to participate fully in the work of the College in this regard. 

The deadline for applications is midday on Monday 19 November 2012 and interviews will take place in early December 2012, with a projected starting date in September 2013.
