Job description

Sam Houston State University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Huntsville, TX. Announcing a tenure-track position starting in the Fall 2021 semester for an Assistant Professor in the Philosophy Program within the Department of Psychology and Philosophy.

The AOS is philosophy of race. The AOC is philosophy of science. On-line teaching experience and proficiency in feminist philosophy are considered strengths. The regular teaching load for tenure-track faculty is three undergraduate courses per semester. It will include, among other things, some combination of Philosophy of Race, Philosophy of Science, and Core Curriculum courses such as Critical Thinking. The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in philosophy prior to the appointment in Fall 2021.  Summer teaching may be possible depending on demand.

(i) teaching portfolio (must contain sample syllabi for a course in Philosophy of Race and a course in Philosophy of Science and may provide evidence of pedagogical training, teaching evaluations, etc.).
