Assistant Professor (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy at Bilkent University invites applications for one full-time junior position. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in philosophy at the time of appointment. All candidates should have an active research agenda. Women are encouraged to apply. Although the AOS/AOC is open, we especially welcome applications from scholars who work in one or more of the following areas: Ancient Philosophy, Feminist Philosophy, History and Philosophy of Science, and Social and Political Philosophy.

The Department’s philosophical orientation is analytical, broadly understood. Current members of the department work and publish in all major areas of contemporary analytic philosophy, as well as in the history of philosophy. The Department currently has 13 full-time members, of which ten are international faculty. The Department offers B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in philosophy.

As research is a priority at Bilkent University, its support includes grants for conference travel and the possibility of sabbatical leave following the third year. Successful applicants will benefit from a reduced teaching load during the first two years.
