Open Rank Faculty in Philosophy Fixed-term Faculty in Philosophy (open rank) Penn State Berks, a college of the Pennsylvania State University, invites applications for an open rank, full-time, multi-year Fixed Term (non-tenure line) position in Philosophy to begin August 2021. Ph.D. preferred, but will consider qualified candidates with a Master's degree, in Philosophy, Ethics, or appropriate related field. Successful candidates are expected to teach courses in ethics and law, upper-level courses in the candidate's area(s) of expertise, and general education courses (particularly supporting students studying Criminal Justice, Psychology and Rehabilitation and Human Services). Candidates experienced with instructional technologies, collaborative learning, or experiential learning are especially desirable. The teaching load is 12 credits (4 courses) per semester. Additional responsibilities include advising students and contributing to the university community. Penn State Berks is located near Reading, PA and is approximately a one-hour drive from Philadelphia and two hours from New York City.
