Senior Lecturer (EXPIRED)

We wish to appoint a Senior Lecturer within the Department of Philosophy, which forms part of the School of Philosophical, Anthropological and Film Studies. The area of specialisation for this post is open. Applicants whose research interests include topics or methods that are currently under-represented in philosophy are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must be able to contribute to core teaching and research interaction within the department.  

The successful candidate will be a scholar with a growing international research reputation and a commitment to delivering high quality teaching within the broad field of Philosophy. The successful candidate will be expected to have a range of interests, to be active in research publications that strengthen or complement those in the department and to be capable of teaching the subject to undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds. A proven track record of securing significant grant funding and leading high quality externally funded research projects, or a clear potential to do so, would be very desirable.  

Candidates will hold a doctorate in philosophy and will be expected to show a commitment to outstanding teaching at all levels, from first-year undergraduate teaching to postgraduate supervision. Candidates should also have some familiarity with grant seeking processes in relation to research councils and other sources.
