Details

Teach Philosophy and Religion. Full-time teaching faculty are responsible for teaching various courses in the designated discipline/field of study. Courses are offered in traditional, hybrid, and distance learning environments. All faculty members must be available to teach day, evening and weekend classes. Faculty members also serve as faculty advisors, serve on division/campus/college committees and participate in curriculum development. Position is available for the 2012-2013 academic year. This is a nine-month, entry level appointment with a normal teaching load of 15 credits per semester. Generous benefits package is provided.

Requirements


Required: The successful candidate will be able to teach a wide variety of courses in philosophy and objectively present the major religions of the world. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, the ability to work in a collegial manner with a highly diverse faculty, staff and student population and the ability to teach in an urban community college setting. Candidates for all positions are expected to have an understanding of instructional technology and, as needed, to receive training in such tools as the Blackboard learning management system.


Masters degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in religion.


Desired: Experience teaching in a community college; experience using technology in instruction; PhD in religion.
