The Instructor in Philosophy serves as a key member of the faculty in the Department of Philosophy and Religion and is expected to serve undergraduate students by performing the following duties: 

Qualifications:

  • Master's required, Ph.D. preferred.
  • A minimum of two years teaching in a higher education setting and demonstrated record of teaching excellence.
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Must have evidence of professional and scholarly promise.
  • Must have excellent communication skills - oral and written.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a culturally diverse environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for instruction in assigned courses.
  • Compiles, administers, and grades examinations, and grades essays and research papers.
  • Submits grades in a timely way.
  • Contributes to and supports the Department's mission and goals.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: 
Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment and requires a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend work.
