Faculty position (EXPIRED)

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Nazarbayev University seeks to fill multiple faculty positions (open rank) in International Relations and Political Science. Current needs include scholars of International Relations (any focus), Political Theory, and Comparative Politics (China/East Asia).  Preferences include:

1. a demonstrable research record or the potential for innovative research; 
2. ability and interest in teaching quantitative methods, introductory courses in PS/IR and Critical Issues in Humanities and Social Sciences; and 
3. experience in teaching writing intensive courses.  

Successful senior applicants are expected to have a record of excellence in teaching, research, and service; applicants at the junior level are expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in these areas. ABD candidates may be considered for provisional appointments pending completion of the degree.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting high-quality research, carrying a 2-2 teaching load, TA support for large classes, program development, and departmental guidance and leadership.
