Job description |
Associate professors with at least five years at associate rank and full professor candidates will be considered for this Associate/Full Professor position. Candidate must have a PhD in Philosophy or similar as well as a distinguished record of philosophical research in the area of feminist philosophy and ethics. We are especially interested in candidates who can meet teaching needs in aesthetics or in the political philosophy of global inequality. The department seeks 1-2 candidates whose approach to teaching, scholarship, and outreach will attract a broad and diverse range of students to the program in philosophy. Candidates must show evidence of outstanding teaching and research and must be willing to teach upper and lower-level courses on a regular basis. The selected applicant will join a faculty who carry a long and proud tradition of highly acclaimed teaching and research in core areas of philosophy. We are seeking candidates with a commitment to excellence in scholarly research, teaching, diversity and professional service. The selected candidate will teach four classes per academic year at the undergraduate and graduate level; advise graduate students; hold office hours; grade exams; conduct scholarly research; perform university and professional service, as appropriate.
