Muhlenberg College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Philosophy for the 2021-22 academic year. AOS: Applied ethics (except Business and Environmental) with special interest in Biomedical and Ethics of Technology. AOC: Philosophy of Mind. Ability to contribute to the college’s Public Health or Neuroscience programs in other ways is a plus. The teaching load is 6 courses per year and will include Biomedical Ethics and Philosophy of Mind. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and working with students from all backgrounds (including first-generation students, low-income students, racial and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ+, etc.). Philosophy ABD or PhD required. Visiting Faculty at Muhlenberg have access to a wide range of professional development resources, including but not limited to pedagogical workshops, facilitated inter-disciplinary course collaborations, and mentoring from the college's Center for Teaching and Learning, the opportunity to engage in research with undergraduates, as well as online-teaching training from Muhlenberg's nationally recognized Center for Digital Learning. Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg College is a highly-selective four-year residential liberal arts college located in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
