DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Rivier University invites outstanding teachers and scholars to apply for one tenure-line position in Philosophy.  The successful candidate will teach seven courses over the academic year and be responsible for developing and implementing new junior-level Philosophy courses for non-majors as part of Rivier’s innovative new Core Curriculum, “Journeys of Transformation.”  These courses will be developed under the rubric of “Ethics, Values, and Moral Choices.”  Because of the relationship of Religious Studies and Philosophy in the Core, the University is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in philosophy of religion and Catholic thought.


QUALIFICATIONS:

The ability and willingness to support the mission of the University, in all daily activities.  

The successful candidate will be able to articulate why he or she is particularly interested in teaching religious studies at a Roman Catholic University whose core mission is to “transform hearts and minds to serve the world.”  Ph.D. required.
