Job description |
The Department of Philosophy and Religion at Western Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position in philosophy at the assistant professor level. The PhD is required at time of appointment. Duties to begin August 15,2021. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate-level, introductory courses as well as advanced offerings for majors and minors and in the university's innovative general education program. They will enhance the role of the discipline in general education and - building on their specializations and competencies - develop additional courses that complement the current curriculum. Besides teaching, the successful candidate will engage in scholarly activity; participate in student advising; serve on departmental, college, and university committees; assist in other department activities as needed; and represent the program in service to the public. The normal teaching load per year is 18-21 semester hours or equivalent. Job Requirements
