Job description

The Department of Philosophy at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York seeks a Clinical Assistant Professor.  AOS: Any Area Connected to AOC. AOC: Aesthetics and one or more of: Non-Western Philosophy (Buddhism especially); Philosophy of Race/Gender/Sexuality; Feminist Philosophy; Applied Ethics. The successful candidate will be expected to teach: a mid-level undergraduate Aesthetics course; an undergraduate freshman seminar, Introductory Courses in Philosophy and Ethics, other undergraduate courses in connection with AOC. 

This is a 10-month (academic year) non-tenure track full-time faculty position with an initial three-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. The teaching load is four courses per semester (one high enrollment course per term will be counted double thus reducing course load to 3), plus committee work. TA assistance may be available. Salary: $55K plus benefits. Additional Summer and Winter (Online) teaching may be possible. For further information about the department please consult our website: http://philosophy.buffalo.edu/. Minimum Qualifications: PhD conferred by time of appointment. All but dissertation (ABD) will be considered for exceptional candidates.

Preferred Qualifications: Track record of successful teaching at the post-secondary level.
