RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach lower and upper level courses in undergraduate philosophy program.
- Contribute to program and course development.
- Participate in Philosophy Department activities.
- Advise undergraduate students.
- Standard teaching load is 24 credits, 8 courses per year.
- Faculty are expected to engage in research and service.
- Area of specialization: Epistemology and some period/figure in the History of Philosophy.
- Some online teaching.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. in Philosophy.
- Documented teaching success at college level.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
- Demonstrated potential for research.
- Preparation for teaching in areas of specialization and competence.
- Teaching competence, in addition to area of specialization, should be broad enough to teach a variety of lower and mid-level philosophy courses that satisfy general education requirements.
- Breadth of teaching interests.
- Experience teaching writing intensive courses.
- Potential for contribution to one or both of Philosophy Department administered interdepartmental programs in Cognitive Science and Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
