Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of Indianapolis invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy opening. This is a full-time, visiting, nine-month position with benefits beginning August 2021 and carrying a one-year term with the possibility of renewal.

The faculty member will carry a 4-4 teaching load and offer courses primarily for the undergraduate general education philosophy curriculum.  The new hire will be able to carry out an ongoing research agenda, and provide service to the department.

Applicants will be asked to upload as a part of their application (1) a cover letter, (2) CV, (3) writing sample, (4) teaching portfolio (statement of teaching philosophy, evaluations, sample syllabi and other relevant instructional materials), and (5) unofficial transcript (highest degree earned). Additionally, three letters of recommendation should be sent by email to Gwen Thomas ([email protected]), Administrative Assistant, and Dr. Jonathan Evans ([email protected]), Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religion and Professor of Philosophy.

Review of applications will begin on May 24, 2021.

A PhD in Philosophy by the time of appointment is required.
