Job description

The University of Cologne invites applications for a 21-month postdoc position in conjunction with the Cologne Center for Contemporary Epistemology and the Kantian Tradition (CONCEPT).

Requirements. To qualify for the position, the applicant must have a Ph.D. in philosophy and must have expertise in contemporary epistemology and/or Kant and Germany Idealism. ABD candidates will be considered. Knowledge of the German language is not required. It is not necessary to have the citizenship of an EU member state.

Job Description. The successful candidate will have an active research project in at least one of the areas listed above work and will work closely with the other members of CONCEPT. The position comes with no teaching duties because it is funded by a grant from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The successful candidate will be expected to regularly attend team meetings and lectures and to help organize events held at CONCEPT. 

Job title, salary & start date. The German job title is "Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter" and the salary level is 13 TV-L, 100%. The net salary depends on age, tax level (family situation), and years of experiences. The minimum annual net salary is 25.629 Euros. The start date is October 1, 2021. The position ends on June 30, 2023.
