Job description |
The Philosophy Department at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville is now accepting applications for a lecturer position to begin August I, 2021. The candidate should have a terminal degree in Philosophy by the start of the appointment, and the ability to teach History of Ancient Philosophy is highly desirable. This is a one -year, fully-benefitted appointment, with a starting annual salary of $45,000, with possibility of renewal contingent on performance and the department’s staffing needs. UTK has a promotable non-tenure track for those with the promise and commitment to become pedagogical leaders in their discipline, and the successful applicant could eventually be eligible for that track if positions within that track become available in subsequent years. The successful applicant will normally teach 8 undergraduate courses a year in lower-division courses, split across the Fall and Spring semesters, and capped at 25 students each. The courses can be multiple sections of the same prep.
