Position Title : Faculty, Bioethics and Professionalism Department : Bioethics and Medical Humanities Division : School of Medicine Vacancy Number : F22-070 Work Location : Macon, GA Job Type : Full-time Job Category : Faculty Responsibilities: The Mercer University School of Medicine has three four year-medical school campuses located in Macon, Georgia: Savannah, Georgia; and Columbus Georgia. The candidate for this position will be based primarily in Macon, though there is an expectation that all bioethics and professionalism faculty will teach on all three campuses both virtually and physically. The selected candidate will work closely with the Chair of the Department, Bioethics and Medical Humanities (Brian H. Childs, PhD—for queries email [email protected]) and the other faculty in the department in creating an integrated ethics and humanities curriculum in both the pre-clinical and clerkship years. Faculty are engaged in a variety of pedagogical modes including Team-Based Learning and Problem-Based Learning. In addition, the selected candidate will be involved in special programs such as faculty development in ethics education, teaching and grand rounds in our affiliated medical centers, sponsoring student projects and research in bioethics and the medical humanities, and faculty committee participation. A certificate program in the medical humanities is being planned in which the successful candidate will be involved.
Minimum Qualifications:
Selection of the final candidate is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
