Job description

Position Description:  The Department of Philosophy seeks to appoint a tenure-track professor in the field of ethics, broadly construed to include normative ethics, metaethics, moral psychology, applied ethics (including the ethics of AI and other technologies), and the history of ethics. We welcome applications from candidates who take a range of approaches to these topics, including (but not limited to) approaches that draw on feminist, Africana, Latin American, and non-Western philosophical traditions. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2022. The tenure-track professor will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Basic Qualifications:  Doctorate or terminal degree in Philosophy or related discipline required by the time the appointment begins.

Additional Qualifications:  Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching and advising is desired.

Three letters of recommendation are required, and the application is considered complete only when at least three letters have been received. At least one letter must come from someone who has not served as the candidate’s primary undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral advisor.
