The Departments of Medicine and Philosophy seek a postdoctoral fellow to join a NIH funded Neuroethics project on the ethics of visual cortical protheses. The project examines patient perspectives and ethical complexities of human brain implants to provide artificial vision. The ideal candidate will have interests in emerging brain technology and an aptitude for collaboration with scientists and neurosurgeons. Responsibilities will include interviewing patients, conducting theoretical research, and drafting manuscripts with other members of the project. The position is initially for one year with the possibility for renewal. An AOS in ethics (theoretical or applied) is required. AOC is open, and applicants with an AOC in disability theory or political philosophy are encouraged to apply. |
