The Department of Philosophy at the University of South Florida invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2022. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION SHOULD BE SENT SEPARATELY TO [email protected] QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience): Minimum Qualifications: The minimum requirement for this position is a Ph.D. in Philosophy or cognate field from an accredited institution in hand by time of appointment. Must meet University Criteria for Rank of Assistant Professor. Area of Specialty: Environmental Philosophy, or Feminist Philosophy and/or Philosophy of Race, or Ancient Philosophy. Area of Competence: open. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who have at least one year of teaching experience in at least one of the listed areas of specialization, and to those with potential to contribute to USF's strategic plan (https://www.usf.edu/president/strategic-renewal/). The Ph.D. program in Philosophy at USF has a major emphasis in the History of Philosophy; the department hopes to hire in all of the listed areas over the next few years.
