LECTURER IN PHILOSOPHY (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is searching for 1 -3 philosophers to teach undergraduate courses such as introduction to philosophy, introductory ethics and contemporary moral issues, based upon department needs. The ideal candidate would be selected to teach 2 courses. Each course would be hired at 40% time (2 courses would be 80% time)  and will be initially for the Spring 2022 semester. Classes begin January 25, 2022, and end May 22, 2022.  The appointment will begin January 6 in order to provide sufficient time to prepare for the course.

There is a possibility this position can be extended in subsequent semesters to teach one or more of the courses listed on this PVL, or similar courses within the department. This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment.

Candidates should be available for interviews on Zoom in November.

Education:

Preferred: PhD or other terminal degree, or a degree at least one level above the level of instruction, or otherwise approved as qualified by the Dean.

Required: Master's Degree
